Needless to say, I was nervous; however, the entire staff at Flagler Hospital made me feel comfortable starting with my pre surgery appointment. They provided answers, encouragement and conversation to make me feel right at home. If there was anything that I needed, I was urged to call. The personalized care I received was exceptional and completely beyond my expectations. I am thankful to Dr. Grimes, his team and the staff at Flagler Hospital for everything they did to help get my life back. Every word of encouragement and every minute of physical therapy that went into making sure my recovery was a success is very much appreciated.

I was very pleased with the care that I received from Dr. Grimes. From the reception area to the radiology department to seeing Dr. Grimes, everyone was very professional and kind. I have already told a number of people who are seeking Orthopedic Care, that they can’t go wrong if they choose Dr. Grimes. As for my surgery….I did not feel nervous at all because I saw the confidence that Dr. Grimes had in the work that he does. It was also great to be informed of all that was going to take place from all the things that I had to do before the surgery to all that was going to happen post surgery. Keep up the good work and I’ll probably see you in a couple of years when I get my right hip replaced!

I want to take an opportunity to thank all who worked so hard to give me my life back. Starting with the instructors at my pre-education class, through the day of surgery when my transporter made me laugh at 6 am, to the operating staff who spent time getting to know me, and Dr. Grimes who always answered all my questions with a calm confidence. The patient caterers provided great food; nursing staff, aids, housekeepers and physical therapists were all great. Even my room was beautiful with a view of a lovely garden!

I am a long time “jog-a-holic” 10 marathons and many 5K’s & 10 K’s. I thought my running days were over after my left knee began to give me pain…even walking. However, when I heard Peter Spiller had run another 130 mile race after having a hip replacement surgery by Dr. Grimes, I decided to check in with him. When Dr. Grimes told me I could run again, I went ahead with my knee replacement surgery. Two and one half months following my surgery I achieved my goal: running one mile on the beach ( with no pain )…. on my 80th birthday !
