James M. Grimes MD

Quality Orthopaedic Care

James M. Grimes, MD

James M. Grimes, MD is committed to excellence by pledging to provide the highest quality of orthopaedic care possible. Along with the treatment of immediate or chronic problems, we strive to integrate the doctrine of prevention in all our treatment plans as a way to alleviate possible future difficulties. We are pleased to have you as a patient. Our commitment to preventative and regenerative medicine is designed to allow a return to function in the fastest and healthiest manner possible.

Dr. James M. Grimes performs over 700 joint surgeries per year ranging from arthroscopy to partial resurfacing to total joint replacement, and is steadfast in reputation due to his efficiency in total joint replacement. He is the first surgeon in the county to perform arthroscopic resurfacing and was the first to execute outpatient joint replacement from an Outpatient Surgery Center. Dr. Grimes also introduced the development of computer navigation to this area and is trained in Robotic joint Replacement.

Dr. Grimes has practiced in Florida for over 25 years. Has covered many schools in St. Johns County as well as Flagler College. Currently he provides coverage for St Joseph High School, PAL Football, and Ancient City Soccer teams.

Helping people heal from injuries and damaged joints requires a step by step diagnosis and recovery protocol to obtain the optimal outcome. Most joint replacement patients are able to return to exercising, playing golf, horseback riding and participating in sports if the rest of the body allows it. Improvement of injury to allow recovery the the highest level possible is our goal.

“Though I’m an Orthopaedic Surgeon, my goal is to help you heal using Regenerative Medicine Techniques and Modalitues to keep you healthy and out of the operating room.”

“I practice what I preach by exercising and paying attention to diet every day. I have had 3 joints replaced and multiple other surgeries and know how difficult it is to recover but also know how rewarding it is to function without pain.”

“Medicine in general (and Orthopaedic Surgery in specific) have changed dramically in 25 years and I am proud to be at the forefront in state of the art regenerative techniques, computer and robotic modalitues and teaching our future physicians through The University of Central Florida Medical School and The University of Florida.”
